Anyone who has met me knows that I have been through a lot of trauma in my life. About 6 years ago I started filling my head full of as much mental health knowledge as I could. Book after book, I continued my journey of self healing and building myself up so that I could help others on a similar path.
It was hard work trying to figure out who I actually was underneath all of the trauma responses and low self esteem, but sure enough, glimmers of my true self started to appear. So here I am today, still on my own journey, but wise as can be and enthusiastic to share my knowledge.
There is no "one size fits all" technique to healing trauma and finding your true self, but the motivation to keep fighting, trying different techniques and exploring your mind AND body will take you on a journey of pain, courage and resiliency.
Resiliency is the end goal when working to heal trauma. Nothing and no-one can change the past, and the future is not guaranteed to be stress/trauma free, but when we learn to be resilient and have self compassion, we have won the battle and finally found ourselves.
Keep asking questions, seeking knowledge, and exploring what works for you! You can heal!
